Panini redemptions again!!

Once again, its time to rant about Panini's redemptions.

I've had Panini redemptions that have been outstanding for as much as 10 years. In July, I received 5 e-mails telling me that my redemptions had been replaced with 150 points each. One of the redemptions was for a Phil Esposito/Ray Bourque dual autograph numbered to 50! 150 points for that??? It was a case hit!

I e-mailed my diappointment to them, but, of course, no response.

I still have 8 redemptions outstanding.

Today, a FedEx truck pulled up and delivered me a padded mailer from Panini. Finally, I thought, a good replacement redemption!

Imagine my surprise when I discovered a 2018 Panini Contenders Optic Football Rookie Ticket Auto Red #ed to 99 of......J'Mon Moore!!!

Seriously...a FedEx shipment for a USFL player??

Just when I thought Panini couldn't get any worse, they did.

Maybe if Fanatics buys them out we might get some good customer service!

That’s too bad…sorry to hear that. I still have a handful of panini redemptions that I am waiting on too. You’d think that they would figure out a better way to deal with these. Fingers crossed that you receive some of your other ones sometime soon!

I'll hop on the rant wagon. Got an email from Panini Oct. 6th about a 10 year old redemption shipping. Just a Marcell Dareus RC, nothing special but since I'm a Bills fan it'll be PC. Email yesterday from FedEx that it was out for delivery, couldn't drop it off because there was no one to sign...that's when I figured out they were trying to deliver it to the address from 10 years ago when I submitted the redemption, not my present (updated) address which they've delivered to for the past 7-8 years. Really looking forward to seeing how long this takes to straighten out.

Ridiculous!!!

I have only ever submitted a few redemptions in the past, but 10 years for one to return is an absurd amount of time. I have had TTM autograph requests roll in after as many as 7 years, which I understand, people are busy, move homes, pack things away and come across them later, or just have a crazy amount of mail and life gets in the way! But 10 years for a product to get shipped from a company, that is just poor management. It almost makes the customer lose interest, or at least lose faith in the supplier, anyway!

The bulk of my redemptions have been through Panini. That's why I was so surprised at how quickly Topps sent out the redemption from one of our Heritage breaks.

Brian as a hockey fan, Panini does not care about you (or me for that matter)! They did the same for my Tarasenko RC redemption and had I know that would happen, I would have sold it years ago rather than redeem. 150 points for superstar autos is nothing more than WEAK crap!!! That will get you a low end GU or low end auto off the point redemption for hockey. Wahoo! Guess we shouldn't complain it could be worse, it could be like Fleer where nobody got any redemptions fulfilled and they went to they highest bidder (UD). Still not a good deal, they should at least offer a comparable rookie auto in another sport. Again, I don't think they care and as long as we keep buying their products they will keep doing what they do, screw us over!

Crazy thing is to replace that card it would take over $100.
The 150 points is worth about $5-10 max and you couldn't redeem for anything anywhere near as good as it.

Panini has literally spat in the face of collectors and the days of Donruss and their good customer service is LONG gone. I'd hate to say it, but I don't think it'll get any better with the likes of Fanatics. It's all about making money, and if they loose a few collector's along their way, they'll find others to replace you.

But wait, there's more Panini fumble with point redemption. If you get a player redemption, they mail it for free. But, when you redeem points, you get to pay the shipping, which for the cheapest, is something like $13, where to mail a first class bubble mailer is $4.

that is tough bob, i also have several redemptions for years back which are now points but can't find 1 auto decent enough to claim.

As a follow-up, over the past few weeks, I have received a total of 4 replacements for my outstanding redemptions. Three of them, Panini notified me by e-mail before shipping, and all 4 arrived by FedEx!

Here's what I reveived:

In exchange for a 2011 Timeless Treasures NFL Rookie Signatures Owen Marecic (Cleveland) I received a 2018 Contenders Optic J'Mon Moore Rookie Ticket auto (Packers) #ed 72/99

In exchange for a 2012 Panini Absolute Spectrum Gold Autographs Matt Kalil Minnesota Vikings OT #101(/ 299), I received a 2018 Playoff Derrius Guice Autograph (Redskins) # 14/15

In exchange for a 2012 Panini Totally Certified Freshman Phenoms Signatures Blue Brandon Bolden New England Patriots RB #107(/ 99), I received a 2005 Playoff Contenders Fred Gibson Rookie Ticket Autograph (Dolphins)

In exchange for a 2011 Plates and Patches Weslye Saunders Rookie Auto (Steelers) I received a 2013 Prominence Gavin Escobar Auto Rookie # 225/225

All in all, not very impressive, and certainly not worth sending by FedEx!

All are available for trade.

I presently have 2750 points with the bulk of the points due to redemptions that never got fulfilled. If I want to redeem them for rewards the economy shipping to Canada comes to $39.44...needless to say I will be trying to trade or sell any future redemptions unless I can see that others have already received the card in question.
