I don't trust Tynes. Glad to hear this.

Pack fans, is this guy better than Tynes? All I am hearing is that he is.

RAYN MAN: Kicker Dave Rayner, who was cut by the Packers on Saturday, will try out for the Giants, possibly as soon as today, according to a league source.

He deserves a shot with someone. I am not sure where he came from...but I first remember him as the kickoff specialist for the Colts for a couple years...then the Packers signed him and was their #1 kicker last season. Did an OK job. Has a very strong leg. Should be good for some touchbacks. IMO, he isn't a pure field goal kicker, and that is a big reason he lost out to the rookie from Colorado. I think he can be a decent kicker in the league.

Well, I guess Tynes will have to do.

Former Packers K Dave Rayner worked out for the Giants today along with several long snappers -- none of which was former Chief Kendall Gammon. According to someone familiar with the Giants' thinking, Rayner did "nothing to distinguish himself'" and won't be signed by the team.
