Is anyone else tired of the BCS?

It has only worked a couple times in its' history (putting the top 2 consensus teams against each other), and frankly has ruined conference rivalries -- I used to hate pretty much EVERYONE outside of the 4 NW schools, but now you are forced to pull for your rivals in both conference and non conference games to keep their 'strength' up. Bring back the days where USC was a dirty word :D

You pull for your conference rivals?! :ban:

I still can't, BCS or not. Only team in the Pac-10 I might pull for is Stanford (outside of U. of Arizona), but that's because I grew up in the area and they need every win they can get.

And yes, the BCS is garbage. But it is in place til 2009, correct?

Bad idea from the start, just added controversy. I dont know if this is better then just having bowl spots locked in. I dont see a true playoff coming anytime soon so we can bump this thread every summer.

sadly yes, primarily because of SOS. Each conference has to win as many non conference games as possible to keep it up and put themselves in better positions for bowls.

...and don't get me started on the special exemptions the Golden Domers get.....

I know your are secretly a USC fan.....I bet you have a Tatupu USC home and road jersey:lollol:....but yeah, the BCS sucks and if it weren't for those stupid computers that nobody understands, USC would have played LSU.....and we would have had a real outcome....instead of hearing LSU fans telling me USC would have got stomped:ban:.....but we'll never know.

As far as determining a "true" champion, it accomplishes more than the old system (though it takes away from all the other bowl games). It's not a perfect system, but it's what we've got.......

And I'm with Brett, don't even get me started on how far the NCAA has crawled up ND's ass on this whole thing:mad:

They would have got stomped but thats besides the point. USC got the shaft but Auburn got an even larger shaft when they didn't get to split the national title like USC did. Hurts without the KY.

BCS :shooting:

yep they ran the table should have gotten their share, but they do not play on either coast so they got the shaft. I think Oklahoma is to blame for both problems....

Def have to dissagree. I think all deserved to play it but seeing that only 2 do then you can not drop a team that has played arguably one of the harder schedule than you sec fans like to think. Auburn played a division 1AA team that year. Also just the year before they played USC and got shutout at home. You all remember that??? Prob not. The sec has 2 pretty good teams year end and out Lsu and Florida. Big 12 has 2 in OU and Texas. Everyone likes to claim 5-6 sec teams are so great,LOL Tennessee has lost alot since there miracle 98 team. Auburn had had a couple nice years, who also played a mediocre Nebraska team and barely beats em. But yet they are one of the 6 awesome sec schools. Now Im not saying the sec sucks because I dont think that. Its just that they ARE NOT the best conference every year. Last year Yes they were. But I also remember a couple years in a row where they either went .500 or worst in the bowls. Also Bama may be coming back.LOL thats for you Stefan. Later anfd look forward to the responses.LOL:salut::salut::salut:
