Since I, like most of you I'm sure, got tired of seeing completely irrelevant ads posted from Google's ad in the main banner I decided to give eBay ads a shot and see how that goes. We weren't on pace to make in a year what it costs to run TCZ for 1 month with Google's ads anyways, so it's worth it to try.

Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know that you can customize what you see in the new eBay advertisement by editing your preferences. You can change the keywords that the ad shows listings for as well as changing the sort order (best match, ending soonest, price, and newly-listed).

I use "tony parker autograph", without the quotes, and the ad is a lot easier to look at now because I'm almost guaranteed that it'll have something I'm at least interested in showing.

If you do use the settings, please let me know if you have any problems with it.

On what pages should I see the ad? I still see a Google ad on this page (under your post).

You should see it on all pages, right under the navigation bar. That's the only one I changed. I would've changed them all, except they ended up all being the exact same.

@Mike I can see it in IE but not in Chrome or Firefox. Just FYI...if it is just me, don't worry about it, but just wanted to let you know

Thanks for the info. I use Chrome myself and it shows up fine here. I've also tested in Firefox and it works here. My first thought was that you might have an ad-blocker, but I guess if you can see the Google ads then that's ruled out. I guess I'll have to look into it a bit to figure it out.

Can anyone else confirm whether or not they see the ad on Chrome and/or Firefox?

I do use Ad Block Plus but have it disabled for this domain. I went ahead and completely removed it from Chrome, and restarted the browser but still don't see the eBay ads. I have always seen the Google ads though.

Seems to work OK on Firefox. At home I usually have the ad-block on. I turned that off and they show.

@andy, I think I figured out what the problem is and it should be fixed for you now. Evidently there's something about Chrome and Firefox that doesn't like the quotes in the search terms. I guess it has something to do with the way the Javascript is written. Anyways, I've removed the quotes from your search term. Let me know if it's still not working and I'll go back to the drawing board, but I have a feeling that'll fix it.
